Ans: The Swallow slayed with the prince and followed his instructions. He became the messenger of the prince and helped poor as the prince had instructed him. When the prince became totally blind, the Swallow became his eyes and told him all that was happening in the city.

Ans: The Swallow felt warm because he did a good deed. He helped the poor lady by giving her the ruby from the sword of the Happy Prince. After doing such a great deed, the Swallow felt a warmth in his body. That was the result of doing a pious deed.

4. The story of the happy prince tells a number of things about the city. Can you identify and list them?

Ans: The story of the Happy Prince tells several things about the city. They include: The rich making merry in their beautiful houses, while the beggars were sitting at the gates. In the dark lanes, the white faces of starving children look cut listlessly at the black streets.

5. Why was the statue of the Happy Prince taken down?

Ans: The statue of the Happy Prince was taken down because it was no more beautiful and attractive. The gold on its body was peeled and there was a deac bird lying in its foot

Ans: The moral of "The Happy Prince" is that true happiness and fulfillment can only be achieved through selfless acts of kindness and compassion towards others. The Happy Prince, despite being a statue adorned with gold and jewels, only finds true happiness when he sacrifices his own beauty and material wealth to help the poor and suffering people in his city. Similarly, the swallow finds meaning and purpose in his life by choosing to stay with the Happy Prince and assist him in his selfless acts of kindness.

7. How does the Prince change from the beginning to the end of the story? Is he happier at the beginning or the end? Why?

Ans: At the beginning of the story, the Happy Prince is a beautiful statue, adorned with jewels and gold, and he is happy because he has never seen the suffering and poverty that surrounds him. However, after he sees the poverty and misery of the people living in the city, he becomes sad. Towards the end of the story, he becomes selfless and generous and sacrifices his own resources to help others. He realizes the fact that happiness lies in being helpful to others.
